A 10-session program (once a month) with the final session in May.
Our program is custom-designed lessons with authentic farming experiences, allowing for participants to experience the full cycle of food production from seed-to-sell, exploring all areas of food production in agriculture available within our region. We will incorporate team building and life skills into these sessions, while generating enriching experiences to impact a lifetime, through what truly sustains us all: healthy food and great relationships. We are about developing authentic connections.
Objectives: create experiences that not only exposes others to a connection to the land and their food, but also develops the participants through life skills, team building, presentations, and reflection.
Food Production – Fruit, Vegetables, Poultry, Beef

Who Should Participate: This program is aimed to be a fun experience for students ages 7-12 OR ages 13-18 who currently live in subdivision and neighborhood settings, with no farm relations or experience. This program is for the “city-dweller” who desires to know more about “how it’s made” when it comes to the food that sustains them. The program is designed to connect the end-user with knowledge and experiences that develop a deep understanding of the food that we eat and the people who produce it in our region.
If you eat food, this program is for YOU! If you don’t wish to ever be a farmer yourself, this program is for YOU!
This will be upbeat, hands-on and physically active. We base our program on positive accelerated learning strategies and encourage independence as well as teamwork in learning. Students will develop more self-confidence, while growing their understanding of this wonderfully challenging farm-life we live, here at Cecil Farms.
